The Timișoara Chamber Orchestra was founded in 2026 under the baton of Italian conductor Jonathan Santagada, bringing together soloists from the ‘Banatul’ Philharmonic in Timișoara and guest artists from across the country and abroad.

The ‘PoliRitmic Echoes’ project marks the orchestra’s public debut with a series of four concerts spanning the historic Banat region — from the Timișoara Philharmonic to Nako Castle in Sânnicolau Mare and the Theatre in Lugoj.

‘Music, from Baroque to contemporary, juxtaposed with the architecture and history of these places — an interdisciplinary concept that creates echoes of the past in the present day.’

The orchestra’s repertoire includes works by György Ligeti, Béla Bartók, György Kurtág, Remus Georgescu and Gabriel Mălăncioiu
